Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC)

San Antonio Urban Ministries
San Antonio Urban Ministries provides temporary emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence, and provides integrated vocational, mental health and housing support to homeless women diagnosed with mental illness and their children.
Family Violence Prevention Services & Women’s Shelter
A non-profit organization funded in part by the United Way, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, City of San Antonio, Health & Human Services Commission, and Department of State Health Services. FVPS is designed to provide victims of family violence with a place of safety, help them transition to self-sufficiency, provide counseling and support for women, children and families who are victims of family violence and in need of service, but not shelter, to educate the public about family violence and to serve as a catalyst for the prevention and intervention of family violence in the community.
